Now, you will see all currently information about the species and its lore. you DO NOT HAVE to stick to it, you can add your limm characters to your settings (they can live not only under water in ur setting), ! BUT! a prerequisite is still full compliance with how they look. in your setting, they don't even have to live underwater (not necessarily, but preferably).

— So, limms are ancient creatures that lived, live and continue to develop in the aquatic habitat. Evolution helped them develop a keen sense of smell, sight, and even hearing under water, based on this, one can understand that limms are excellent hunters. sharp teeth allow them to deftly grab their prey, and the special structure of their organs allows them to eat this prey immediately, without any processing and cooking.
Limmas communicate with each other quite specifically - with the gills. They emit ultrasounds that only other members of this species can understand. Nevertheless, they have vocal cords, which means that they will still be able to speak normally if they come ashore.
Living deep under water, the limms built their civilization there with their rulers and established laws, for violation of which even execution may follow. Oddly enough, but the most terrible and strict law for them is still faith in religion. Each limm at a certain age is obliged to undergo a rite of passage, otherwise it will remain an outcast for life. Those brave who dared to reveal the secret that they do not belong to religion, in most cases, are sent to the Ketoniss battles.

gastrolimms feed on small crustaceans, sponges and algae.
live in coral reefs and most often not as deep as common limms.
the calmest subspecies, moreover, their hunting skills are the worst developed in comparison with other subspecies, they are slower than others and have less sharp teeth.
